Model Components

Our current model, UKESM1.3, is based on UKESM1.1 with the addition of interactive Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets. The model is run in CO₂ and CH₄ emission mode (instead of concentration mode). Key components of the model are shown in the figure below, with further explanation in the associated paper on UKESM1.1
